
Miguel Ángel Alba Díaz, a Mexican Roman Catholic prelate and bishop of the Diocese of La Paz, Baja California Sur, died on February 2, 2026, in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, at the age of 75.
He was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, on January 23, 1951, and studied humanities, philosophy and theology in the seminary of his native city. He was ordained a priest in Monterrey on May 31, 1975.
Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Fessei and auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Oaxaca in 1995, and in 2001 he was appointed the third bishop of the Diocese of La Paz.
