
Daryl Hoole, an American author and public speaker, died on February 2, 2026, at age 91.
Born Daryl Van Dam in Salt Lake City, Utah, she wrote on home management and family living and authored nine books. Her bestselling book, The Art of Homemaking, remained in publication for 25 years.
Hoole also gave numerous lectures on her subjects throughout the United States and Canada, including close to 40 years of appearances at Education Week at Brigham Young University. She also served as a missionary in the Netherlands and later in Asia with her husband in Church service.
