Charles Renoux, a French Benedictine monk and orientalist, died on February 2, 2026, at En-Calcat Abbey in France.

Born on April 30, 1925, in Bouin, France, he dedicated his life to laity at En-Calcat Abbey in Dourgne. He studied Syriac, Georgian and Armenian at the Catholic University of Toulouse, then Eastern Christianity at the Catholic University of Paris.

Renoux wrote dozens of articles on Syriac, Georgian and Armenian liturgical texts. He was 100.

Athanase Charles Renoux (French: [ʃaʁl ʁənu]; 30 April 1925 – 2 February 2026) was a French Benedictine monk and orientalist.
