Henry J.
Mansell, an American Roman Catholic prelate and archbishop of Hartford from 2004 to 2013, died April 21, 2026, at age 88. Born in the Bronx section of New York City on October 10, 1937, he was ordained a priest of the Catholic Church and later served as auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of New York from 1992 to 1995 and as bishop of the Diocese of Buffalo from 1995 to 2003.
He also studied at Cathedral College in Manhattan and St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 1959.
