Xesús Alonso Montero, a Spanish writer and specialist in Galician literature, died on February 13, 2026.
Born in Vigo on November 28, 1928, he authored a number of works focused primarily on Galician history. Alonso Montero served as president of the Royal Galician Academy from 2013 to 2017.
