Christian Astuguevieille, a French artist, designer and perfumer, died on February 13, 2026.
He served as artistic director of perfume at Comme des Garçons Parfums, where he worked with Rei Kawakubo on unconventional scents that challenged traditional notions of perfume. He also held artistic director posts at Parfums Molinard, Rochas and Nina Ricci.
Earlier, he was invited to the Centre Pompidou in 1977 to design and lead an educational workshop for children, and in 1980 he opened a jewelry workshop and boutique in Paris’s Galerie Vivienne. He also created furniture using leather, raffia, straw, linen and hemp rope.
