Simon Oxley, a British graphic designer, died on April 4, 2026.
He was 56. Born in Kingsclere, Hampshire, England, in 1969, Oxley worked as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator from 1989 to 2026, operating predominantly under the studio pseudonym Idokungfoo.
He was known for designing the original Twitter bird logo and the GitHub Octocat logo, and also created the puffer fish for Bitly and Sammy the Shark for DigitalOcean.
