Born in Abbey Wood on April 1, 1960, he worked at the BBC and became editor of Radio 4’s Today in 1998, a post he left in 2002. He later served as associate editor of The Spectator and wrote for publications including The Sunday Times and The Sun.
Liddle also published novels and other books, among them Too Beautiful for You, Love Will Destroy Everything, The Best of Liddle Britain and the semi-autobiographical Selfish Whining Monkeys.
