
Robert Skidelsky, the British historian, economist and life peer who sat in the House of Lords from 1991, died on April 15, 2026, aged 86.
Known as a British economic historian and author, he was best known for his three-volume biography of John Maynard Keynes, which is regarded as a definitive study of the economist‘s life and work. Educated at Jesus College, Oxford, Skidelsky held academic posts in history and politics and served as a crossbench life peer in the House of Lords.
