Quintin Young public figure dead at age 78

Quintin Young

Quintin Young, a Scottish footballer, died on April 24, 2026, aged 78.

He was best known for his time with Rangers, where he spent three seasons after starting his career at Ayr United in 1969 and later moving to Coventry City. Young played for Rangers in both legs of the first European Super Cup against Ajax Amsterdam and scored in the second leg in Amsterdam.

He left Ibrox after a disagreement with manager Jock Wallace and later joined East Fife in 1976.
