Tony Wilson, a Trinidadian musician and songwriter best known for his work with Hot Chocolate and for co-writing “You Sexy Thing,” died on April 24, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born Anthony Wilson in Trinidad on October 8, 1947, he was a vocalist, bass guitarist and songwriter who became involved in music at 16. He was a founding member of Hot Chocolate in 1968 and left the band in 1975.
Wilson shared lead vocals with Errol Brown on early hits and co-wrote songs including “Love Is Life,” “Brother Louie” and “Emma.”
