Per Hegna, a Norwegian professional tennis player, died on March 22, 2026, at the age of 80.
A native of Oslo, he played out of the Berg Tennisklubb and won 26 national championships, including eight outdoor and six indoor singles titles. His Davis Cup career for Norway began in 1962 and included 17 ties, with 15 wins across singles and doubles, though most of his appearances came between 1973 and 1983.
Hegna also played collegiate tennis in the United States for the University of Wyoming and competed in Grand Prix tournaments during the 1970s, reaching a career-high singles ranking of 180. At the 1976 Swedish Open, he reached the quarter-finals after upsetting Juan Gisbert and Julián Ganzábal.
