Helen Rankin, an American politician who served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1978 to 1994, died on March 22, 2026. She was 89.
Rankin was the first African-American woman to serve in the Ohio House of Representatives. In February 2013, she was recognized by the Cincinnati City Council as a prominent local African American.
