Stiehl, an American politician and member of the Illinois House of Representatives from 1975 to 1983, died on March 22, 2026. Born Celeste Sullivan in Belleville, Illinois, on September 7, 1925, she attended the Belleville public schools and the Katherine Gibbs School in New York.
Stiehl was involved in civic and political activities and was a Republican. She died in Glen Carbon, Illinois, at age 100. Her husband was William Donald Stiehl, who served as a United States District Court judge.
