
Monica Azuba Ntege, a Ugandan politician and engineer who served as minister of works and transport from 2016 to 2019, died on April 21, 2026.
Born in about 1954 in Uganda’s Busoga sub-region, she studied at Gayaza High School and graduated from Makerere University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. After joining Uganda Commercial Bank that year, she later rose to facilities manager at Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited.
She also served on the board of the Uganda National Roads Authority from June 2014 before her appointment to cabinet in 2016.
