Margret Nikolova, a Bulgarian pop singer, died on April 13, 2026, at the age of 97.
Born in Sofia on October 10, 1928, she was active from 1948 to 2000 and performed pop, romance, and ballad songs. She was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Bulgaria in 1964.
That year, she took third place at the Sopot International Song Festival. In 1969, a song she performed with Kiril Semov, “I Had a Dream,” won the grand prize for Bulgarian song at the Golden Orpheus festival. She also became widely known in the Soviet Union through a duet with Georgi Kordov on “Alyosha.”
