Gheorghe Urschi, a Moldovan actor, director and comedian, died on April 13, 2026, after complications from a stroke.
He was active for more than 40 years and worked in film and theater from the 1970s through 2011. Born on January 18, 1948, in Cotiujenii Mari, Moldavian SSR, Soviet Union, he was named People’s Artist of Moldova in 2012 by Nicolae Timofti.
Urschi died in Chișinău, Moldova, at the age of 78.
