
Hüsamettin Cindoruk, Turkish politician and acting president in 1993, died on April 11, 2026, at the age of 92.
He was twice a member of Turkey’s Grand National Assembly and served as its speaker from 1991 to 1995. Born in İzmir on June 8, 1933, Cindoruk studied in Ankara, graduated from TED Ankara College, and received a law degree from Ankara University in 1955.
He later worked as a lawyer and came to national attention after the 1960 Turkish coup d’état, when he joined the defense team for Adnan Menderes and other Democratic Party figures.
