Henry Nwosu Nigerian footballer (New Nigeria Bank F.C dead at age 62

Henry Nwosu, a Nigerian footballer and manager, died on March 14, 2026.

Henry Onyemanze Nwosu spent his career at home with New Nigeria Bank of Benin City and African Continental Bank of Lagos, and also played for ASEC Mimosas FC of Ivory Coast and Racing FC Bafoussam of Cameroon. He was the youngest member of Nigeria’s victorious 1980 African Nations Cup squad and scored Nigeria’s only goal at the 1980 Olympics.

Nwosu also played in the 1982, 1984 and 1988 tournaments, with Nigeria finishing runners-up in the last two, and his last game for the national team came in 1991.

Henry Onyemanze Nwosu (pronunciation; 14 June 1963 – 14 March 2026) was a Nigerian football manager and player.
