Fred Kemp, the English footballer who played for Halifax Town, Southampton and Blackpool, died on July 24, 2026, aged 80.

Born Frederick George Kemp in Salerno, Italy, on 27 February 1946, he was an association football player who operated as a half-back in the 1960s and 1970s. Kemp began his professional career with Wolverhampton Wanderers, making three Football League appearances before moving to Southampton in 1965.

He spent five years at The Dell, then went on to Halifax Town, where he made more than 100 appearances across three seasons. His later career included a short spell with Hereford United before he finished in non-league football.
