He was 65. Born in Long Beach, California, on November 30, 1960, he developed an early interest in electronic music after hearing Tangerine Dream’s “Rubycon” and went on to study analog synthesis at Long Beach Community College before continuing at San Diego State University, where he encountered tape manipulation and tape composition techniques.

As a composer, he wrote for film, theater, dance and interactive multimedia, performed with the Kronos Quartet and recorded 11 albums of original work. His credits also included appearances on compilations such as “Dali: The Endless Enigma,” “Soundscape Gallery 3” and “Weightless, Effortless,” along with guest spots on recordings by Steve Roach and Paul Haslinger.
