Dee Palmer, the English musician, arranger and composer best known for work with Jethro Tull, died on June 13, 2026.

Born David Palmer on July 2, 1937, in Hendon, London, she studied composition at the Royal Academy of Music, where she won the Eric Coates Prize and the Boosey and Hawkes Prize. Palmer worked with Jethro Tull as an arranger from the band’s early years in 1967 and was a member from 1976 to 1980, while also building a career as a keyboardist and composer across rock, soundtrack and modern classical music.

She was appointed a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music in 1994.
