William W.
Stinson, the Canadian railway executive who served as president of Canadian Pacific Railway Limited from 1981 to 1996, died on May 1, 2026. He was 92.
Stinson also served as chairman and chief executive officer of Canadian Pacific Railway and was a former chairman of Sun Life Financial. He was educated at the University of Toronto Schools, Trinity College at the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario.
