Greg Hyman, an American inventor and co-creator of Tickle Me Elmo, died on May 1, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born Greg Eaton Hyman on June 25, 1947, in New Rochelle, New York, he was a toy inventor whose work included a vibrating, giggling stuffed doll that became one of the most popular toys of 1996. Hyman also developed an electric musical toy that was later acquired by Playskool, along with dolls that “drank” milk from a bottle and another whose heart beat when a toy stethoscope was placed against its chest.
