Ulises Schmill Ordóñez dead at age 89, Mexican judge, minister and president of the supreme court

Ulises Schmill Ordóñez, a Mexican judge and minister of the Supreme Court, died on May 18, 2026, at the age of 89.

He served as a minister of the court from 1985 to 1994 and was its president from 1991 to 1994. Born Ulises Sergio Schmill Ordóñez in Mexico City on April 4, 1937, he held one of the court’s top posts during a nine-year tenure on the bench.
