Born on December 10, 1946, in Kemaliye, Turkey, she began her professional music career in 1972 after working in accountancy. She was known for pop folk and arabesque recordings and for albums including Tülay (1976), Seven Ağlatılmaz (1978), Kalbimdeki Sevgili (1981), Özleyiş (1989), and Olmalı Olacak (1993).
Her first release came in 1974, and she had a breakthrough in 1975 with İkimiz Bir Fidanız – Son Ümit.
