Georg Wadenius, a Swedish guitarist, died on May 1, 2026, at the age of 80.
Known as “Jojje” Wadenius, he was a multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer who was active as a studio and session guitarist and bassist, particularly in the 1970s and 1980s. He was a founder-member of the Swedish groups Made in Sweden and Solar Plexus, and later moved to the United States to serve as lead guitarist of Blood, Sweat & Tears from 1972 to 1975.
Wadenius was born in Stockholm and attended Adolf Fredrik’s Music School. He received Swedish Grammis awards in 1970 for Made in Sweden and for his work on children’s songs.
