Donald Bergagård, the Swedish evangelist, singer and accordionist, died on September 29, 2026, at the age of 90.
Born in Öckerö on February 13, 1936, he first worked as a pastor in the Pentecostal congregation Elim in Örebro in the late 1950s before a 1959 visit to Aage Samuelsen’s Maran Ata meetings in Oslo led him to devote himself to the movement in Sweden. He went on to help found the Maranata movement there and established the first Swedish Maranata congregation in Örebro in 1960.
Bergagård later returned to Oslo, where he served as a pastor from 2001 to 2004, and then moved to the United States later that year.
