Shortparis, the Russian experimental music band formed in Saint Petersburg in 2011, died on February 20, 2026.
The group was formed by Nikolai Komyagin, Alexander Ionin and Pavel Lesnikov, who met in their hometown of Novokuznetsk before moving to Saint Petersburg, and was later joined by St. Petersburg natives Danila Kholodkov and Alexander Galyanov.
Shortparis’ releases included its debut album, Docheri, in 2013, the Russian-language album Paskha in 2017, and Tak zakalyalas’ stal in 2019.
