Philip Castle, a British airbrush artist, died on February 20, 2026, of pneumonia.

Born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England, on October 20, 1942, he was best known for designing posters for Stanley Kubrick’s films “A Clockwork Orange” and “Full Metal Jacket,” as well as artwork for Paul McCartney’s Wings tour. His work also included the hard rock video magazine Hard’n’Heavy, the cover art and original Elite logo for the 1984 video game Elite, and artwork commissioned for Metronomy’s 2008 album “Nights Out” and the single “Heartbreaker.”

Philip Castle (20 October 1942 – 20 February 2026) was a British airbrush artist.
