
Ralph B.
Guy Jr., an American jurist and judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, died on April 20, 2026, at the age of 96. Born in Detroit on August 30, 1929, he received an Artium Baccalaureus degree from the University of Michigan in 1951 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in 1953. He was in private practice in Dearborn from 1954 to 1955, served as assistant corporation counsel for the City of Dearborn from 1955 to 1958, and was corporation counsel for the city until 1968. He later served on the federal bench, joining the Eastern District of Michigan in 1976 and the Sixth Circuit in 1985.
