
Li Daoyu, a Chinese diplomat and former ambassador to the United States from 1993 to 1998, died on April 20, 2026.
He was 93. Born in Hefei, Anhui province, China, in August 1932, Li graduated from the University of Shanghai in 1952.
He later served as China’s ambassador to the United States, a post he held for five years.
