Phil Campbell (musician) Musician dead at age 64

Phil Campbell, Welsh guitarist and musician, died on March 13, 2026, aged 64.

Born Philip Anthony Campbell in Pontypridd on May 7, 1961, he was best known as the guitarist in Motörhead from 1984 until the band’s disbandment in 2015 after the death of founder and frontman Lemmy. He also toured with his own band, Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, which featured his three sons.

Campbell’s career began in 1979 with the heavy metal band Persian Risk.

Philip Anthony Campbell (7 May 1961 – 13 March 2026) was a Welsh rock musician, best known as the guitarist in Motörhead from 1984 until its disbandment in 2015 upon the death of founder and frontman Lemmy.
