Paul Lloyd, the English boxer known as “Livewire,” died on September 19, 2026, aged 57.

Born in Bebington, he competed as an amateur bantamweight before turning professional in the bantamweight and super bantamweight divisions during the 1990s and 2000s. As an amateur, Lloyd won the 1990 Amateur Boxing Association of England bantamweight title and later represented his country at the World Cup in Bombay in November 1990, where he recorded a win over Rico Maspaitela of Indonesia.

He also fought at the 1992 Olympic trials in Halle, Germany, and won bantamweight gold at the 1992 Canada Cup in Ottawa.
