Scott served as senior writer for Major League Baseball Productions from 1988 until the company was dissolved in 2015, and during that span he wrote more than 1,100 television shows for outlets including Fox, ESPN, MLB Network, YES Network, ABC, NBC, NESN, Spike, FS1, NBC Sports and A&E. He was also responsible for 450 consecutive episodes of This Week in Baseball, and his credits extended to nearly 150 DVDs and home videos, among them more than 26 official World Series films.
His work earned 16 New York Emmy Awards, a Boston/New England Emmy Award, 17 National Sports Emmy nominations and a Cine Golden Eagle award, along with other honors from his earlier newspaper career.
