Born Oswaldo Carlos Blanco Díaz in Caracas on September 8, 1945, he was a right-handed first baseman who began his major league career in 1970 and finished in 1974. Blanco played 52 games in the big leagues, batting .196 across his time with Chicago and Cleveland.
He was later honored with induction into the Venezuelan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in 2015.
