Monowar Hossain Chowdhury, a Bangladeshi politician and former member of parliament, died on September 8, 2026, aged 78.
He represented the Gaibandha-4 constituency in the Jatiya Sangsad and was elected to parliament as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate in 2018. Chowdhury also took part in the 2008 and 2014 elections under the party’s ‘nouka’ symbol and served as chief engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department.
He died while undergoing treatment at Square Hospital in Dhaka.
