June Wyndham Davies, a British television producer and director, died on September 9, 2026, aged 97.
She was known for her work in television drama and for co-producing the film August with Pippa Cross; the production, starring and directed by Anthony Hopkins, won the BAFTA Wales award for Best Drama in 1997. Davies entered the BBC in 1965 as a director and worked on studio-made drama at a time when much of the medium was still produced almost live.
Her credits included 30 Minute Theatre, Sunday Afternoon Theatre and Out of Town Theatre, along with single plays such as The House Mouse, Why Me?, The Heart Grows Cold and The Lariat. She also devised, wrote and directed the six-part documentary series Why Would You Believe It?
