Joaherul Islam, a Bangladeshi politician and lawyer, died on February 27, 2026.
He was a Bangladesh Awami League politician and served as a Jatiya Sangsad member for Tangail-8 from 2019 to 2024. Born on 12 February 1956 in Tangail, Bangladesh, he was also a freedom fighter in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
Islam was elected to parliament on 30 December 2018 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate and served as general secretary of the Tangail District unit of the party in 2017.
