Les Rumsey, an English speedway rider, died on February 27, 2026, aged 70.
Born Leslie John Rumsey in Canterbury, Kent, on July 27, 1955, he rode in the top two tiers of British Speedway from 1972 to 1983 for various clubs. He signed for Canterbury Crusaders in 1972 and spent seven years with the club, serving as captain.
In 1975, he finished in the top five averages during the New National League season and later became a regular heat leader for teams in the National League.
