Jimmy Revie, the British boxer who held the British featherweight title from 1969 to 1971, died on September 18, 2026, aged 79.
Born in Stockwell, London, in 1947, he made his professional debut in September 1966 with a fifth-round stoppage of Brian Gullefer. Revie won his first 13 fights inside the distance before suffering his first defeat in February 1968, when Jimmy Anderson stopped him in the ninth round in a challenge for the British junior lightweight title.
He later unsuccessfully challenged for the European title in 1971, the same year his run as British featherweight champion came to an end.
