Jeremy Beecham, Baron Beecham, a British politician and member of the House of Lords from 2010 to 2021, died on April 9, 2026, aged 81.
Born in 1944, he was a British Labour politician and a senior figure in English local government. He led Newcastle City Council and was the first chairman of the Local Government Association.
Beecham was also elected chairman of the Labour Party’s National Executive Committee from October 2005 to September 2006.
