Héctor Vargas Haya, Peruvian politician and former deputy, died on April 9, 2026, at the age of 98.
Born in Rioja, Peru, on March 29, 1928, he served in the Congress of the Republic from 1963 to 1968 and again from 1980 to 1990. A member of the American Popular Revolutionary Alliance, he was president of the Chamber of Deputies from 1988 to 1989.
