Born Jason Peter Walker in New Zealand in 1969, he began his career in 1988 and later built a body of work that spanned performing and writing. His third album, Ceiling Sun Letters, was nominated for the ARIA Award for Best Country Album at the 2010 ARIA Music Awards.
Walker also authored two biographies, Gram Parsons: God’s Own Singer in 2002 and Billy Thorpe’s Time on Earth in 2009.
