Born in Arkansas on April 5, 1956, Hitchcock was on death row in Florida for the July 31, 1976, rape and murder of his 13-year-old step-niece, Cynthia Driggers, at her home in Winter Garden, Florida. He was found guilty in 1977 and received a death sentence that was later overturned and reinstated.
