H. Prynne, a British poet, died on April 22, 2026, at the age of 89.
Jeremy Halvard Prynne was closely associated with the British Poetry Revival and was a key figure in the Cambridge group among its poets. He grew up in Kent and was educated at St Dunstan’s College, Catford, and Jesus College, Cambridge. Prynne was a Life Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and retired from teaching posts at the University of Cambridge in 2005. His first book, Force of Circumstance and Other Poems, was published in 1962.
