Ian Miller, the Australian footballer who played for Perth, Fitzroy and East Perth, died on September 14, 2026, aged 76.
A versatile player, he began his senior career with Perth, was part of the club’s 1968 premiership side and won the Sandover Medal in 1972. That same year he represented Western Australia at the Perth Carnival and went on to appear in 15 interstate matches for the state.
Miller later spent four seasons with Fitzroy in the VFL from 1974 to 1977 before returning to Western Australia to join East Perth, where he starred in the 1978 grand final victory and won the Simpson Medal. He later coached Perth from 1982 to 1984.
