Luděk Mikloško, the Czech footballer and coach who spent much of his career as a goalkeeper, died on September 14, 2026, aged 64.
Born in Prostějov, he became best known for his long spell at West Ham United, where he made more than 300 appearances, and also played in the Football League for Queens Park Rangers. In his native country, he represented RH Cheb and Baník Ostrava.
Mikloško was capped 40 times by Czechoslovakia and was part of the squad at the 1990 FIFA World Cup, later earning two caps for the Czech Republic. After retiring, he returned to West Ham as goalkeeping coach before leaving the club in 2010.
