Hugh Curran, the Scottish footballer who spent much of his career in the English Football League, died on September 2, 2026, aged 82.

Born in Carstairs on September 25, 1943, he began his career with Home Farm after his family moved to Dublin in 1954, later moved on to Shamrock Rovers, and had a spell as an apprentice at Manchester United before returning to Scotland. After time with Third Lanark and Corby Town, he was spotted by Millwall and turned professional there in March 1964.

He then joined Norwich City in January 1966, scoring 53 goals in three years at Carrow Road, before going on to play for Wolverhampton Wanderers and win five full caps for Scotland between 1969 and 1971.
