More about Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon Bonaparte, an Indonesian police officer, died on October 18, 2026, aged 60.
Born in South Sumatra on October 26, 1965, he graduated from the Indonesian Police Academy in 1988 and began his police service after graduation. His career included service as deputy chief of Cengkareng Police in West Jakarta.
While holding that post, he was cast as Lieutenant Gusman, the central character in the soap opera Pedang Keadilan, known in English as The Sword of Truth. The production was made in cooperation between the Indonesian National Police and Maheran Mukti Wiguna, and its subject was the lives of police officers. The role placed Bonaparte, then serving in a police leadership post, in a dramatic portrayal of the profession he practiced. He later served as head of the Indonesian National Police’s International Division, his last position in the force. His involvement in the Djoko Tjandra scandal led to his removal from office. The case proceeded to trial, and Bonaparte was sentenced to four years in prison. His career included police service beginning after academy graduation, a posting in West Jakarta, and leadership of the force’s international division before the scandal and resulting court sentence brought his tenure to an end.
